The Murphy Family
Founded by Dan Murphy in 2020, Sea Warrior Stables, LLC is an equine-focused family business venture involved in the owning, racing, breeding, claiming, and selling of Thoroughbreds. What's the story behind the name, Sea Warrior? The Gaelic translation of Murphy is "sea warrior".
The Murphys enjoy traveling as a family -- especially when it involves visiting a race track. When they're not watching the races, the Murphys can usually be found on the backside rubbing noses in the barn or on the backstretch watching early morning workouts.
Dan and Cathleen are the proud parents of Tommy (UofL '22) and Catie (USC '23). Tommy made Louisville his home and is putting his Equine Business degree to good work with West Point Thoroughbreds, Inc. He is engaged to Haley Hill, also a University of Louisville alum. Go Cards! Catie is currently attending law school and will graduate in '26. Dan and Cathleen reside in South Florida with their dog and two cats.
